In honor of Richard F. Sterba, M.D., eminent Life Member, a private benefactor has donated money to establish the Richard Sterba Fund through the Division of Clinical Psychology of the University of Detroit. The Fund is intended to help support, through one year renewable grants, the personal psychoanalyses of twelve to fourteen pediatricians or nonmedical individuals in the mental health field, residing in Southeastern Michigan, who would make use of the experience to benefit a broader segment of the community.
This unique financial resource has no connection with psychoanalytic training. However, by making it possible for nonmedical mental health professionals to be analyzed, it is expected to promote psychoanalysis in this area to an extraordinary degree.
