The theme will be “Projection, Identification and Projective Identification.” It will be held at the Hebrew University on May 27-29, 1984. The conference has been designed to use clinical presentations to clarify the concepts being discussed, focussing especially on the interpersonal processes that enter into transference-countertransference interaction, particularly those which are used to describe internalization and externalization. The conference will be held in English, and distinguished speakers from different countries will include Betty Joseph (London), Otto Kernberg (New York), William Meissner (Boston), and Rafael Moses (Jerusalem). Joseph Sandler, director of the Freud Center, will act as moderator.
A social program is planned for all who attend. Also, on May 30, there will be a separate all-day post-conference meeting on “A Psychoanalytic View of Child-Rearing Practices in the Kibbutz.” The meetings are open to psychoanalysts and those in related fields, but the number of participants will be limited.
