Dear Colleagues,
This is my last issue as Editor of the Newsletter. I want to express my appreciation for the opportunity to have served the organization in this capacity for the past several years. I have found my task to be challenging and my reward to be more than sufficient for the effort expended. I am grateful to my staff for the considerable support and contribution each has made. I am grateful also to the Administration for their unfailing patience and encouragement. Finally, I am grateful to the many readers who have let me know of their approval, interest, and concern with our product.
I want to express my best wishes to my successor, Arnold D. Richards, of New York. Arnold Richards is a most excellent choice to serve as new editor, and he has already assembled a creative, energetic staff of both old and new contributing editors, along with many new ideas for its publication. I am certain that the Newsletter and the American itself will be stronger for his journalistic efforts.
Cordially,
Estelle Shane
