This summer, for the first time, an international congress of psychoanalysts will meet in Latin America when the Argentine Psychoanalytic Association, the Buenos Aires Psychoanalytic Association, the Psychoanalytic Society of Mendoza, and the Cordoba Psychoanalytic Study Group host the 37th International Psychoanalytic Congress in Buenos Aires from July 28 through August 2. The theme of the Congress is “Psychic Change: Developments in the Theory of Psychoanalytic Technique.” In a landmark election, the first Latin American president will be elected at the business meeting to be held on July 31.
Argentina's cosmopolitan capital city offers a variety of cultural events—theater, music, ballet. Its art galleries are filled with classical and modern masterpieces of painting, sculpture, and silver objets d'art. The city's architecture is a pleasing melange of colonial, Spanish, and French design.
The weather is mild, and even in the Argentine winter the days are sunny. From the tropics in the north to the glaciers in the south, Argentina offers fun for winter and summer sports enthusiasts alike.
Aerolineas Argentinas, the Congress's official air carrier, will provide flights at reasonable fares, and trips to various parts of the country can be arranged. Hotel costs have been brought to the lowest level and are relatively inexpensive. A handsome optional cultural program has been worked out by the local organizing committee and pre- and post-Congress tours have been organized.
The “37-IPAC-91” Local Organizing Committee invites you to “Come on down! Come to our country, and bring your family and friends.”
