I want to commend you on producing a newsletter that is the most readable, informative, and at times exciting publication on the psychoanalytic scene. It is always full of news of the field, excellent interviews with important analysts, and choice historical information not found elsewhere. Discussions of ethical problems have been frank, sometimes to the point of being disturbing. The issue of nonmedical analysis has generally been covered fairly. I have been pleased to see occasional contributions from nonmedical analysts who are not members of The American and hope that you will extend this practice so that nonmedical analysts will feel increasingly comfortable reading and contributing to your pages.
