JOURLIT, the personal computer database of bibliographical data for all articles in the major psychoanalytic periodicals in English, 1920 to the present, has since its initial distribution in 1985 been continually updated, corrected, and expanded. The journals now included in JOURLIT are Annual of Psychoanalysis, International Journal of Psychoanalysis, International Review of Psychoanalysis, Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, Psychoanalysis and Contemporary Thought, Psychoanalytic Dialogues, Psychoanalytic Inquiry, Psychoanalytic Psychology, Psychoanalytic Quarterly, Psychoanalytic Study of the Child, and Psychological Issues. The disks also contain bibliographical reference data for the Standard Edition, The Writings of Anna Freud, and The Writings of Melanie Klein. The BOOKREV database includes bibliographical data for all books reviewed and all book reviews appearing in the same psychoanalytic periodicals, as well as in Psychoanalytic Books. These databases were created by a small group of analysts and are being shared with professional colleagues and libraries on a low-cost, nonprofit basis. The compressed data are on 1.4 MB disks (other sizes available on request) formatted for IBM-compatible computers. JOURLIT and BOOKREV are indexed for rapid and extremely easy search and report functions by DUALLOOK, a program designed by Paul W. Mosher to search all JOURLIT-formatted and BOOKREV-formatted databases simultaneously. A demonstration version, DEMOLOOK, is included with each copy of JOURLIT or BOOKREV. For users who wish to modify or add data to the databases or create new JOURLIT-compatible or BOOKREV-compatible databases themselves, DUALEDIT, a dedicated database program also developed by Mosher, is provided free with each copy of JOURLIT.
