I was pleased to read that a fellow Baylor alumnus had been named a 1997-98 APsaA Fellow. Baylor College of Medicine is in Houston, however, not in Waco. Baylor University is in Waco and has neither a medical school nor a psychiatry program. There is a Baylor University Medical Center, but it is located in Dallas, which was the original site for Baylor University College of Medicine. Baylor College of Medicine has no “University” in its name. The medical school and Baylor University have no current, active relationship, though they did have one about 30 years ago.

A small point to Yankees. A big point to Texans, especially since the milieu of the medical school is fundamentally different from that of Baylor University, which has one of the most conservative and religious campuses in the country.
