AUGUST 23, 2001 — I came back from vacation and saw George W's picture on the front cover of TAP. I was astonished and, I must say, horrified. He is no friend to mental health, psychoanalysis, medicine, or most things we stand for, even if he gave the “go-ahead” for the HHS privacy rules. Dick Fox's letter was more than enough.

I think it really gives the wrong message. Other people I've talked to in the limited time I've been back are equally surprised and dismayed.
