L'homme comme avenir d'une femme
Starting from clinical cases, this article seeks to understand the increasing numbers of adolescents, mainly girls, who ask for a transition. Sometimes the gender dysmorphia is temporary, leading to a non-binary identity, sometimes a hormonal and/or surgical transition to the opposite sex is the only available option. In the course of the article the biology/psychology ratio, the impact of somatic treatment, e.g. puberty inhibitors, and the possibility of psychotherapy are discussed, the ultimate aim being to help adolescents come to a personal gender identification and to respect whatever the outcome of their treatment process is.
