Psychanalysis and digital remote contact
This article aims to develop a metapsychology that enables an ongoing debate about the role of digital remote contact in a psychoanalytic context in the broadest sense (the psychoanalytic consultation room, the consultation process, supervision, theoretical and technical seminars). The foundation for such a metapsychology is an exhaustive understanding of the meaning of « analog », taking it according to our external and internal sensorial observation of data, perception, interpretation, memory and the way in which thoughts take possession of mental processes and transform them into a narrative. Intersubjectivity is analogously based on the movements of our bodies in interaction. However, we are not only bodies, but we also have bodies living in cyberspace. Dealing with the latter is a necessity and this will require another range of definitions of intimacy and intersubjectivity as well as techniques for an appropriate psychoanalytic approach in a specific situation.
