7th July 1960
Dear Professor Luria,
My greetings to you with happy memories of Copenhagen in 1958. I have recently heard about you from a friend of mine, Miss Mary Waddington, who had the pleasure of meeting you in Moscow.
The reason why I am writing to you at the present time is that I am wondering whether the enclosed that I have recently written is of interest in your country. It has been translated into German and Italian and I think will be published in French and Turkish and possibly Portuguese. I would be very pleased indeed if this attempt to make a statement of The First Year of Life of an infant could find a place somewhere in the literature of your country. You will be able to judge when you read it. It interests me very much that babies are really the same everywhere.
With warmest greetings, Yours sincerely,
