IX., Berggasse 19
Dear colleague,
Our correspondence is doubtless suffering in expectation of the summer. Everything is being unintentionally postponed until the days when we will walk on the deck of the Washington and chat about the present and future of ΨA. I can't do anything against this compulsion and am therefore confining myself to factual information.
I note with satisfaction that you have again reconciled yourself with ΨA, and I also understand that you are not uncomfortable with postponing your lecture. I am counting the weeks until the vacation, and there are still too many. We have made reservations for the summer in the Hotel Ammerwald on the Tyrol-Bavaria border (region of the Bavarian royal castles). There I hope to find the solitude of the forest [Waldeinsamkeit], for which I yearn so much and which my body also needs so much. I will then depart directly for Bremen on August 19. We will talk later about how we shall meet.
My daughter is very well again. It is foreseeable that she will realize her intention to visit Budapest, if not in the next few months, then certainly in the fall. My wife is in Karlsbad with Sophie. (I never know if I have already communicated a piece of news.) I will visit her over Whitsuntide.
The hard work at present naturally can't be made use of, but the impressions keep on accumulating and will probably yield something when I am more tranquil. Have I written to you much about the third edition of Everyday Life? I accepted the lion's share of your contributions but left out some as being too fine for the elementary nature of the book; I know that I can be very grateful to you for these things, and I am happy to be so. The book won't come out until fall. Then the second edition of the Theory of Sexuality will also materialize.
