Vienna, July 4, 1909
IX, Berggasse 19
Dear colleague,
We are not yet doing as well as you assume. We don't leave for Munich
until the fourteenth of the month. Our address will then be:
Ammerwald, Post Reutte (not Hotel Post)
Tyrol.
I do not dare count on your visiting us this time, since I am assuming that America will consume most of your vacation. We can still decide where we will meet, whether on the way or not until we get to Bremen. Aside from that, there is a remote possibility that on Sunday I will be waiting in Budapest between two trains, 1:30-3:2,0. Couldn't we eat lunch together then? I will telegraph in case the trip should come about. I assume that you are quite lonely now in the summer
As for wardrobe, besides the travel suits, I will take along a dress coat and a salon jacket. The former can probably be dispensed with. Don't forget a good coat for the ocean voyage. One should buy a top hat there on account of the difficulty in transporting it and then throw it into the ocean before the return trip
I completed the case of the Rat-Man1 and am preparing to send it to Jung, but I have reached the end of my capacity for work for now. In the summer only America. I gladly accept your wishes for the vacation. Unfortunately, I can't do anything about the weather. This summer promises little. My daughter2 has fled the rigors of the Pustertal for Klobenstein auf dem Kitten or Bolzano, which we are also leaning toward for next year.
There will I hope be time on the G. Washington for all scientific conversations, if the sea doesn't bother us. I am very much looking forward to the whole thing.
