Vienna, June 1, 1911
IX., Berggasse 19
Dear friend,
So, I will spare us all discussions about our conversations at Whitsun and am very pleased about your fortunate idea. I ask you only, don't come on Sunday but rather on Monday, for I have been very tired since a severe migraine on May 29 (May 6 + 23),1 and I want to get a good rest on Sunday, i.e., sleep through the morning and be completely inactive.
But don't exaggerate discretion to the extent that you call it off.
Auf Wiedersehen.
Cordially,
Freud
Freud is referring to the male rhythm of twenty-three days postulated by Fliess (6 + 23 = 29). May 6 is Freud's birthday.
