Klobenstein
Hotel Post, August 4, 1911
Dear friend,
My recollection tells me that I was not sparing with complaints from Karlsbad, and so I am now pleased to inform you that I have been sitting here in complete comfort since July 31. The only thing missing is that my wife should get out of bed after coming down with a summer diarrhea, and that it should rain, so that mushrooms can sprout in the magnificent woods. Air, view, accommodations, and service are ideal, and the worries about room for the accommodation of guests or newly arrived family members that plagued us in Upper Bolzano are not present here. We are not considering staying anywhere else, and we expect that fall will take shape here more pleasantly than summer, which was too hot anyway. With that we await you here at the time you indicated and ask only that you inform us of the day so that we can reserve a room for you.
Martin is staying in Millstatt for the time being, and Ernst, after terminating his treatment in the last few days, is going to visit Mathilde in Aussee. Quite a few illnesses, as you can see.1
You have also lived through some of this in your neighborhood recently. I wish you good recovery until you come to us.
