VII., Erzsébet-körút 54
Dear Professor,
You shouldn't take offense at my stubborn silence. Only certain points of respite are suitable for summarizing and reporting in the changeable battle that I must wage simultaneously with three opponents: with Elma, Frau G., and—myself. Such a state of equilibrium exists at the present moment, for instance, and my first thought was, of course, you and my duty to report to you. (Not as if this duty had not occurred to me countless times in the interim.)
