Dear friend,
I imagine that you are at work and will soon have better things to note down. Nothing much new from here. Rank's book on incest1 was published, very impressive and, I think, very good. In the last two weeks I have had one and a half hours' less work per day, but I am not any more productive.
Everything that comes from Zurich or reports about it speaks of a bad
situation there. Oberholzer, Pfister, Binswanger are meeting under the sign of Jung's rebellion, which makes the future very uncertain. He hasn't written back to me for two weeks. Now he is preaching against the analytic activity of laymen, after he himself led Pfister to analysis.
Many thanks to your brother from all of us.2
I submitted your paper against Putnam to Rank unaltered. You can still insert some moderation in the proofs that you send to Putnam prior to publication.
When you see Abraham give him my best, but do not remind him of his prophecy, “That man in his ambition will yet ruin everything.”3
I wish you the most astonishing success and await news from you.
Yours truly,
