Dear friend,
Yesterday I had editorial company for supper and learned from Rank that you have already criticized Jung's latest declaration. I was very pleased by your dash. Our critical issue will also be very extensive; unfortunately, it has not yet begun to go to press.
I must approve of your intention for a public discussion for you and for Hungary. Your temperament and your quick-wittedness are a proper guarantee of its success. Public interest in ΨA is probably also abating in Russia, Poland, etc., where they failed to position themselves properly in the first assault wave. Not so in Germany and America.
I would be very pleased if you could move your friend to attempt the two drawings of Moses. The ones by Fräulein Wolf1 are unsatisfactory. The engraver Max Pollak, who “etched” my portrait “with a needle,”2 has also promised to deliver these drawings. But that shouldn't hold you back. My doubts have not been overcome, and I will certainly hold up publication if an illustrator doesn't support them effectively, convince me first, so to speak.
I am writing very assiduously on the history of the ψα movement, and I hope to have worked on Jung, and with that have finished it by Sunday. Should I send you the manuscript first? You would then have to send it back to me soon with your remarks, so that it can go by way of the Viennese, through Hitschmann, to Abraham.
Health and practice are now good. Everything mostly in order at home. You should visit us again at the end of the month, when the work is in
