Vienna, February 15, 1914
IX., Berggasse 19
Dear friend,
Today two pieces of news. I'll begin with the lesser one. I have finished the History of the ψα Movement and am prepared to send it to you as soon as you express the wish to see it. You will then be so kind as to expedite
the packet securely to Abraham—for I can't write it over again—and then send to me under separate cover your criticisms, reservations, suggestions, so that I can use them in the corrections. It was trying work; you know the first part.
Second: sudden receipt of a paper by Jelgersma,1 rectorial address on the 339th anniversary of the famous old University of Leyden, called ontgeweten (ucs.) Geestesleven. I am trying to understand it, but I see that it has to do with the Interpretation of Dreams and—is friendly. Next day I received a newspaper from Renterghem2 with a long excerpt from the paper; then a letter from Abraham, who confirms that Jelgersma has spoken out unreservedly in favor of us and ΨA and has fantasized about translation, etc. Finally, a letter from the author himself, which I am enclosing for you (for the shortest time) and which really confirms the miracle. Imagine, official psychiatrist, rectorial address, ΨA from head to toe! What surprises are yet to come!
Heller wants to write to him and arrange for a German edition of the little paper.
On Friday, the 20th of the month, at my place, there will be an official Moses evening, at which the fate of this experimental piece is supposed to be decided (Heller, Rank, Sachs, Pollak, the artist who has delivered very good drawings to me).3 Too bad you are in Budapest.
Your telegram requesting the manuscript has just come. So, I will have it sent tomorrow. I want to read Jelgersma's letter in the Society on Wednesday. The paper about déjà vu that you asked about is a piece of junk.
Are you in a mood to undertake something this Easter (April 12)? Perhaps go to Arbe again, which must be very nice later in the season. If everything goes all righ
