Dear Professor,
I have learned from a patient, Dr. Dukes4—who has now been left in the lurch on account of military service—that he will perhaps be coming to Vienna for military training. Now, resistance has dictated to him the idea to look you up and to request that you take him into treatment for these eight weeks. I think I should warn you about this both in the interest of the cause as well as for personal reasons, since Dr. Dukes is one of the few patients who remain to me as a “shabby remnant” after the war. I was now able to advance the matter of the transfer after a fashion—whether successfully remains to be seen. On Wednesday I will be in Pápa again.
Kind regards,
