Györ, September 2, 1915
Dear Professor,
My unsettled and restless life-style, the constant change in my place of residence may be to blame for our having lost contact by letter. Your last letter is dated August 14; since then I have written you twice to Berchtesgaden, to be sure, only to an indefinite address. The letter with your exact address is in Pápa.
Mornings I officiate at inspection, otherwise I am free, but intellectually I am quite sterile; this milieu paralyzes all intellectual activity. The impressions of my last trip to Budapest caused me to undertake an hour-long self-analysis, which brought out the uncommon significance for me of castration anxiety.—I am otherwise well, physically.—The city of Györ is very nice, a big city in comparison to Pápa.—I also spoke with Dr. Königstein, who is interned here.1
Please write to me. Perhaps your letter will shake me out of my apathy.
Kind regards to you all!
