Dear Professor,
The matter of the Tátra is in good shape. Either we get for you two rooms at Lake Csorba (1250 m.)—electric railway up to the house, climate something like Karersee, good food, heating—or even in one of the other two spas (Tátrafüred = 1,000 m. or Tátralomnicz = 950 m.). The prices are reasonable.
The young and talented ethnologist Dr. G. Róheim, who has been my patient up to now, wrote a book, Der Zauberspiegel1—in which he explains the use of this magic device by means of your theory of sexuality (narcissism). That would be the first Ψα. work by an ethnologist of the first water. He would like to have the book published as a volume of the Schriften zur angewandten Seelenkunde—or in “Imago” and then in a separate edition with Heller. The work is 6-7 pages long. It could appear in Imago in two installments.—The book would also have to be published simultaneously in Hungarian.—I recommend to you his request most warmly. Perhaps the work will fit better in the Hefte für angewandte Seelenkunde—in case Deuticke wants it too.
Kind regards,
Ferenczi
Róheim's paper was published under the title “Spiegelzauber” [Mirror Magic] in Imago 5 (1917): 63-120, and in 1919 as a book by the Verlag.
