[Budapest,] May 29, 1918
Dear Professor,
My telegram on the matter of the third room in Csorba went off this morning. Not until around noon did I get your letter which deals with the same subject. You will gather from it that my conscience was burdened sufficiently by my immodest request, even without your letter. I am firmly convinced that I will get a room in Csorba or Móry quite soon, once I am there; but it will be still more instrumental if I first have only Frau G. go to Csorba and get myself a room through her. On no account should my vacation be the totally unjustifiable cause of your not having room at your disposal to work.
I am also eagerly awaiting the reply to the Feketehegy scheme.
The idea of paying something for Annerl's stay in Kótaj is by our way of looking at things so impossible that I would keep from making any mention of it to my sister. It is not an exaggeration for me to maintain that such an expectation would be fit to cloud the pleasant impression that the Kótajers have of Fräulein Anna; that couldn't be Annerl's intention, could it?
I hastily read through Tausk's paper about the influencing machine.1 I think it is the best thing he ever wrote. I am awaiting Pötzl's Metapsychology of the Center of Vision2 with great curiosity.—In Hungary, the interest in Ψα. doesn't seem to want to abate. New and hitherto unknown adherents keep popping up. We have a session on July 9. Róheim and Jellinek will lecture on something ethnological.3 The former gave a lecture today in the Society for Ethnology about “Ambivalence and Reversal.”4
Kind regards,
Ferenczi
