Vienna, March 31, 1919
IX., Berggasse 19
Dear friend,
I wrote to you on March 28, but I am very pleased again to have the opportunity for a letter, which you are receiving through Dr. Jellinek perhaps earlier than the other. I don't even know your address, if you are leaving the hotel. At the same time, we are thinking of you all day long and have so much to ask you, which would be too extensive for the written route.
I want to treat only one business interest broadly. I ask you to work things out with Toni so that the Agrarian Bank takes care of the formalities necessary to complete the transfer of the scientific fund deposited in my name to its branch in Vienna. Since it concerns a foundation and not a private estate, there should be no difficulties. You see, we need money for printing costs, salaries, honoraria; our books will soon be ready, and we will be in an embarrassing position if every time we make a payment, we have communication difficulties with Hungary. Rank is supposed to return in two to three days, and then the activity starts up again. I am not thinking of going into larger scientific enterprises now, but I would like to see the ones we have begun put on a secure footing.
