Dear Professor,
Fräulein Aranka Schwarz [sic] from Szolnok is so kind as to take care of getting these lines to your address.—I hope you are in possession of my detailed letter, in which I (for the second time) gave precise data about a case of illness which will interest you; the letter in which I did this for the first time seems to have gotten lost.—I think Toni is writing you today—simultaneously with me, so it is superfluous to issue a bulletin about him. He is, to be sure, still preoccupied with his physical condition (paresthesias, etc.), but feels quite well while working. I am in a position to keep him busy in my “clinic,” if only privately. The most recent task I gave him is the organization of Ψα instruction in the “Society for Child Research,”1 which requested a Ψα temporary worker from me. A Frau Dr. [Melanie] Klein2 (not a physician), who recently made some very good observations on children, after she had several years of instruction with me, is supposed to help him.
Hárnik is now lecturing in the Post-Secondary School Ψα Association; he is explaining the Breuer-Freud hysteria book3 page by page to the boys. This association numbers (after careful selection) twenty-three members. The number of auditors in my university lectures is increasing by the hour. Even physicians and pedagogues are requesting admittance. I am already beyond the introduction and am about to present the transformations since catharsis.
The Freud Society is still working. Today Pfeifer gave quite a stimulating lecture about a theoretically interesting theme (symptom formation).
Dr. Dubovitz [sic] is already recovered, but physically very run-down, and since he also has an old pulmonary apicitis, Dr. Lévy wants him to go to a sanatorium in Switzerland. If he succeeds in getting passports, then he will show us (me, Frau G. [and Toni?])4 the way by which travel to Austria (Gastein) can be realized.
The past eventful and tiring year makes my longing for some freedom
