Dear friend,
I received a brief letter from Rank from Merano, dated the 10th of the month, in which he sets the date for his return to Vienna for the end of this month, and postpones the reply to my long letter and the discussion of the
problems hovering [over us] until then. This for your orientation only. A change in the situation is not in the offing. Your intervention should also not have the meaning of a mediation at all.
