Baden-Baden, August 15, 1925
Dear Professor,
1) Since we will miss you at the Committee meeting to be held on September 1,1 at which I will present the recommendation I shared with you (founding the Society of Friends of ψα), I request your opinion, which I would definitely like to consider.
2) Enclosed a newspaper clipping from the “Times,” which shows us (as could be anticipated) that your name cannot be spared from advertisement, as soon as official positions of ψα allow themselves to get in with the film industry.2
Kind regards,
Ferenczi
“I have … convened the old Committee members for a Committee meeting in Bad Homburg for Sept. 1, leaving out Rank, naturally. In the next few days I will share this with our youngest member, Anna” (Eitingon to Freud, August 13, 1925, Sigmund Freud Copyrights).
The New York Times of July 26, 1925, had reported that Freud himself would direct the film, while The Times of London (August 4, 1925) had claimed that it would be supervised by Freud (, “Popularise,” pp. 765, 771).
