[Semmering,] Villa Schüler,
June 19, 1926
Dear friend,
It is now easy for me to reply quickly; I am here without anything at all to do, while Anna has taken along all her American children.1
That damned America! So you will go, you're still not saying when. Will I still see you beforehand? In any case, I will give you the address of Ruth
Mack-Blumgart,2 who left Vienna today and will probably stay over there until October 1. She hopes to be able to be of use to you. You know that she has become an excellent analyst and is very close to us all. [Her] address is:
Hotel Ansonia
73th3 Street and Broadway
New York
Your pupil's paper is certainly clever and honest, but it has little to do with us. The conditioned reflex is somewhat removed from analysis. Tell me what you intend to do with the work. I won't oppose accepting it in the Zeitschrift. Perhaps it would fit better in Jones's journal, where one would save having to translate it. I will keep the manuscript in the meantime.
It would be very beautiful here if it weren't so cold and didn't rain so vehemently. This time I don't take to the altitude particularly well; perhaps only the first few days.
