Dear Professor:
I have not much to add to the general account given in the Rundbrief.2 Knowing the intimate relationship between Brill and Jones, I, of course, mitigated my observations about the New York members.
Dr. Feigenbaum3 seems to be the only member who is enthusiastic about the work and is more than just a member of the Analytical Trade Union. He attends the seminar which I give to the lay analysts.
In my lecture to the Child Study Association, I mentioned Anna Freud's pioneer work in the Grenzgebiet of Psycho-Analysis and Child Education.
We spent a weekend with your sister, Mrs. Bernays,4 in New Rochelle. She is in excellent health. Her house and estate are exceedingly beautiful. Mr. and Mrs. Heller were there, too. Mr. Edward couldn't come but I met him at one of my lectures and we will soon have a talk about financial questions. I am afraid that he didn't like my English very much at the New School lectures, but the general benevolence of my audience prevents me from being discouraged.
I have not yet called on the relatives of my friend Eitingon but I will do it after Christmas.
Yesterday Mrs. Heller's sister came up to speak to us in a restaurant on Fifth Ave. opposite her antiquity shop. We hope to see more of her.
Radó asked me to send him a report of my work and observations in America. I entitle Max to use out of the Rundbrief as much as seems suitable to him for this purpose.
I hope soon to see Viereck and have a talk with him about the English translation of the “Lay Analysis.”
