Dear Doctor!
So, the Congress has finally been canceled. I have already received news several times from Eitingon. He, you, and I were in favor of it, Jones and Ophuijsen were opposed to it. But this majority was sufficient for Eitingon, although that will probably create difficulties later on. Eitingon also exchanged telegrams with Brill and the French group, and both showed much understanding for the situation. Even if the German exit tax should still be lifted, monetary conditions are too uncertain, and all circumstances speak in opposition to a Congress altogether. I, personally, am also glad, by the way. Now one can at least afford the luxury of being tired.
Things are going very well with us, and we are having a very peaceful summer.
When does your vacation begin?
Very cordially,
Anna
