Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Dr. Jones,
No I am not a King-fu. I regularly find as much instruction as new hints in your letter. The treasure dream I did not mention in any of my writings, because I was not sure where I had found it. I only wanted to say, that it was present to my mind, when I wrote the Analerotik.
Any article of yours on the Mystery and Mythology of Flatus will be welcome either to the Jahrbuch or to the Zentralblatt. You are right, there is an enormous amount of material behind these topics and none to work it up. As for Rank, who would be the right man for such a task, I have put him to work on a literary idea, you remember. You took the Macbeth problem out of this Zusammenhang [context].1
Donot take up too much work and resist the editors for the moment. You promised to give out a short manual of psychiatrics placing therein the Psychoneuroses at their due post and inoculating a new generation of American physicians by the ψα Virus.
Your Hamlet will be delivered up to Deuticke in the last days of this year. I was very happy at his judgment, and perhaps a kind of diplomacy had a part in it. Yet I was astonished myself, that the constant depreciations I am suffering here should have rendered me so sensible [sensitive]4 to being acknowledged by some one honest and clever. It is true I had thought I had more internal resistance.
I have received all your papers whenever I do not mention them in
