Dear Professor Jones,
I was very happy about the good news from your wife and the kind words from yourself. Let us hope that the continuation will suit the beginning and that we shall earn at least a good portion of recovery, although to be sure we will struggle for nothing less than the whole of it.
Scientific news are scarce in this hot water-place. The most interesting may be that I got yesterday a letter from Jung which cannot but be construed into a formal disavowal of our hitherto friendly relations.1 I am sorry, not more on personal motives but for the future of the Verein and the cause of ψA, but I am resolved to let things go and not to try to influence him more. ΨA is no more my own affair but it concerns you and so many others besides as well.
