13 November 1913
Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
My dear Jones,
You see your advise and Abraham have prevailed with us. I only called for a council feeling uncertain in these political matters. Ferenczi was the hotspur but he is giving in too. We do not want to lose any position by affective motives.
Jung has already retraced [retracted] his name from the Zeitschrift, he is likely to do something more and I expect him to do work for us. It is perfectly clear why he resigned at the Jahrbuch. He wanted me and Bleuler to fall off and have it all to himself. The surest proof is that he immediately expressed his readiness to undertake it when Deuticke wrote him under a false impression, that I had produced with him in our first conversation after Jungs resignation. It was not until some days later that I was moved by Rank and Sachs to propose to Deuticke my keeping the Jahrbuch and D. had to refuse him and to take from his hands what he considered his booty.
I intend going to Hamburg during Christmas and to pass Sunday 28th of Dec. afternoon from 1h-8h with Abraham at Berlin. If you can be present too I will be very glad, to see you and to talk it over with you. It may be much more easy for you to come to Berlin than to Vienna.
As for Loe I guess from her letter, that she is very angry with me. It must go this way. She seems deep in Morphia but looks for the cause of my unkindness in my personal affairs instead in her own.
(I am getting interrupted)
Sincere love to you
Freud
