Dear Professor Freud,
I am very grieved at your bad news about Loe. Although she naturally shows me her worst side, I always feared you were too hopeful, and am full of concern about her future. She can be such a wonderful creature at times, that it is dreadfully sad. However, I do not envy Herbert Jones if he marries her.
I meant to stay at the Regina, but last night I got a telegram from Loe, saying she had reserved a room at the pension, so I shall be there on Sunday morning. I am greatly looking forward to my visit.
Yours ever sincerely
Jones.
