Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Jones,
I badly want a few hours talk with you. Letter writing is a bad substitute. Be sure I do not think of weakening the tenor of my paper in the Jahrbuch,1 there will be some modifications and additions (not visible in the Fahnen sent to you) but none in the direction of clemency.
It may be that we overrate Jung and his doings in the next time. He is not in a favourable position before the public when he turns against me: ie. his past. But my general judgment on the matter is very much like yours. I expect no immediate success but incessant struggling. Anyone who promises to mankind liberation from the hardship of sex will be hailed as a hero, let him talk whatever nonsense he chooses.
