Dear Jones,
The next (2d) number of the Zeitschrift ought to contain an obituary for good old Putnam. It is to appear in the month April. Now will you be so kind to write it or will you leave it to me?1 In the latter case I must beg you, to send me, as soon as you can, the dates of his birth, life and career, papers etc., until 1910. His name is not to be found in “Who is who in science” of the year 1912 and I have no access to other material (By the by “W. i. W.” is a scandalous book). In any case the item should not be too short, warm and highly appreciating on his merits as an adherer to ΨA.
