Dear Professor Freud,
I fear you must have been going through a bad time this spring; it will surely be the worst, so that soon times must mend. I want to know your plans as soon as you are able to make them. Shall you go to Switzerland or where, and when? I did not want to break practice again in June—you know how serious that is—then back in July and off again in August, but of course I want to see you as soon as it can be managed—July or August.
I have now got full material from America for Putnam's memoir,1 which I will soon write and send you at the end of May, after Peace is signed. His daughter likes to think that he was drifting from ψα, but that was not true—only that in his last years his own thoughts on philosophy became more insistent.
