Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Jones,
To begin with and to make your heart glad: on the 6th of May a member of the committee (Eitingon) presented me with a new ψα fund to the amount of one million of crowns ($5000) and so put an end to our most pungent fears. I was but dimly aware of the nature of his objections but I thought it might be a matter of principle, the democratic against the autocratic as represented by myself and my adherers. If so I wished to express my opinion that this was perhaps not the matter to be judged by political views. I had a double sta
