Dear Jones,
You cannot have been more surprised than I by the news of Brill's pilgrimage. I think he has been caught by the current carrying Frink, Blumgart, Oberndorfer and others to Vienna, for assurance sake I will repeat what he writes of his trip. He is to sail on Aug. 23d, to land in Cherbourg Aug. 30th and to depart on Sept. 19th from Cherbourg or Plymouth. He asked me to write him to Paris c/o the American Express Co. So I did to-day and perhaps it will be in time for you to do the same. In my letter I stated that I was likely to stay here during the first half of Sept. I added: as he was to meet you before me you could give him account of my whereabouts in any case. I am not sure where he will go first.
Regarding your question about the term of our private meeting I think it will be the last week of Sept. The same as you I have to be back on the last of this month. I asked Rank to fix the exact day of our meeting in accordance with the Berlin people.
Thanks for the enclosed preface to your translation. It is all right. I appreciate it highly that you undertook this herassing bit of work.
I received Mrs. Riviere's letter and thinking she acted with your compliance I answered kindly and in a positive way. In January I may get some free hours. I am glad you are still utilizing the powers of the Strachey's and accept willingly Miss Hubback's reintegration to her superior rank as a translator.
As for the arrangement of the papers for the Sammlung I fully [agree]1 consent to everything agreed between you and Rank. Your suggestion
