Dear Professor,
Thank you very much for your full letter, which came this morning. You answered all the questions with which I bothered you, except whether Boven should go in the Journal as well as Imago; they sent it for the Journal and want to know.1 Also about Einstellung and Position;2 perhaps my interpretation was correct?
I am not surprised at your decision about McCann-Tridon and will communicate it to Unwin, trying to retain him on our side.
If you pass the enclosed review of Forsyth's book will you be good enough to let Hiller have it. Otherwise will you please let me know your suggestions for alterations.3
Westermarck, in the new edition of his History of Marriage, attacks you on the incest question, and I have written a strong review,4 for he gives himself into our hands beautifully.
It is a pity we took Oberndorf for the Journal, but I do not see any way now to change him for Blumgart. If only Brill were more helpful in such matters! I was interested in the news of the Americans and shall look forward to greeting any of them who can pass through London.
It must be terrible to live in Vienna just now, but the success of our work there is some compensation, I hope. You are restoring the city to her old pre-eminence as a medical centre.
Thank you for your kind wishes about the new babe whom we expect at the end of the month. In the meantime I enclose some recent photographs of Gwenith, who is a very charming and normal child.
