International Journal of Psycho-Analysis
13 February 1922
London
Dear Professor,
An important matter has arisen just after I sent off the Rundbrief, and in order to save time in dealing with it, I am writing to yourself, Abraham, and Ferenczi for advice. Dr. Bose has constituted an Indian Psycho-Analytical Society and has formally applied for affiliation into the International.1 He has sent a complete list of their statutes which are modelled on the British ones. Everything is conducted in a most orderly way, and I myself am satisfied to accept them. Would you please let me have a post card by return of post with your opinion.
Yours cordially,
[Ernest Jones]
Girindrasekhar Bose, M.B., D.Sc., from 1917 onward taught psychoanalysis at University of Calcutta as lecturer in clinical psychology; founder of the Indian Psycho-Analytical Society on 22 January 1922; see Hartnack (1990).
