Dear Jones,
As I am growing older every day and come to dwell on the idea of my death I am struck by the consideration that the money deposited at Lissa & Kann's would not be available for my wife except by the way of applying to you, and I think this would mean many inconveniences to both parties. So I decided to have my son Dr. Martin Fr. in, who now is in the banking business and give him the right of disposal at L & K. The next thought told me that it was of no use hampering you by getting the receipts and accounts etc., as you are not meant to dispose of that money in any way.
The simplest way out of the situation would be if you wrote to L & K, telling them that you resign from interfering with the account bearing your name and that Dr. Martin Freud, Treuga (Wien),1 to whom they are sending regular duplicates now, will step into your place. He will send them a sample of his signature, as soon as you have notified the change to me.
There is a possibility that you from any motive may object to lending your name to an account over which you have no control. If so let me know it at once, I will put on another name and request you to inform L & K of two things: 1) that the account is to be transmitted to another
