Business!
Dear Jones,
I admit that I am unable to understand anything of your communication in the Rundbrief about the apportionment of the fee for the Collection, particularly as no figures are mentioned. I therefore ask you for a clear explanation. Everything that I know so far comes from the following notification from the International Verlag of 24 March. “From the Institute of Psycho-Analysis we have just received for the translation rights of the Collected Papers, vol. 1 (1,500 copies) and vol. 2 (1,000 copies):
26 pounds 18s. 5d.,
i.e., half of the amount due to us by contract. We therefore assume that the Institute of Psycho-Analysis will pay the other half directly to you or will credit you.”
Cordially yours,
Freud
