Business!
Dear Jones,
I thank you for your detailed information. So now I know that I have 26 pounds 18s. 5d. at my disposal. It was always my intention that the translators should be paid for their efforts. But I learn with satisfaction from your letter that this has already been done to some extent at your end.
I have therefore decided to dispose of the amount in question in such a way that one-half is to be paid to Mrs. Riviere and the other half to my daughter Anna, who indeed also has a certain share in the translation. The deposit for Anna can be paid into her account at the Anglo-Austrian Bank Ltd., London, Piccadilly.
When my royalties for the two other volumes arrive, I ask you to divide them equally between Mrs. Riviere and the Stracheys, without asking for further instructions from me.
With cordial thanks.
Yours,
Freud
