21 March 1926
Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Jones,
Anna has now translated your obituary [of Abraham], which was beautifully and sympathetically written, and I revised it. I have comments to make on several points and the translation will have to be modified accordingly.
On page 1 you say: “We have once before lost by death a president of a branch society,” but I think that is a mistake. I know of no such case. Will you let us know what you mean?
On page 6 I should prefer not to mention that he held the chair longer than any other society's president, as it is unimportant and doubtful.
On page 7 you state erroneously: “The opposition to Jung at the Weimar Congress…”; that, of course, was Munich, not Weimar.
Further below on the same page, I suggest that you alter the reference to the disturbance owing to the war, for in 1914 it was not Dresden but Holland that was contemplated. Dresden was not proposed until 1918 and was replaced at the last moment by Budapest.
We must first obtain confirmation for the editorship of the Zeitschrift mentioned on page 8. We are in the sanatorium and do not have the literature at hand.1
The rest seems all in order; we are waiting impatiently for the continuation. The translation of the first part will be sent off to Storfer tomorrow.
