19 April 1926
Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Jones,
Very saddened to hear the reason for the distress in your family. By the time you receive this letter I hope that at least all concern will be over and that you will at once write me a few lines of reassuring news.
Regarding your trip to Vienna, I should like to ask you to start a day earlier, because in consideration of the many circumstances I had to decide to be available already on the fifth, and I naturally wanted to make sure of our discussions before the birthday celebrations.
Many thanks for your enclosure; the comment is very interesting, although it sounds somewhat distorted, “queer.”1
Cordial greetings to you.
Yours,
Freud
