42 York Terrace, Regents Park
Dear Professor,
Though I am late in answering I want to thank you very warmly for your second letter, which helped me very considerably. We are finding our way day by day, but life is unattractive and our pain very bitter to bear. What more is there to say? You know I shall not fail in my duties and work, but will not expect much creative activity from me for some time. My wife struggles on. She is going to Vienna next Monday to visit her mother.
I hope you will have a pleasant holiday and will find energy to write on the interesting theme you mention (young v. old).
Yours always
Ernest Jones.
