9 April 1930
Vienna, IX. Berggasse 19
Dear Jones,
I hasten to reply to your letter.1 It was very full of content; I was not very happy to hear that you have been ill, but the news with which you end had a refreshing effect on me, aroused all my sympathy. That is the proper way to take revenge on cruel fate, and I hope it will meet with good success. At the end of this month—in other words at the time when your child is expected—I hope to be able to go to Berlin. I will stay again in Tegel with Anna.
Most cordial wishes to you and your dear wife.
Yours,
Freud
