Dear Jones,
I have just received a diploma, full of pomp, as honorary member of a “Royal Medico Psycholog. Association, London.” Will you let me know in a couple of lines what sort of thing that is and how I am expected to react?
Did you notice that after eighty I no longer express my thanks for letters of congratulations?
