Dear Professor,
Undeterred by your letter to him Herr Daiber1 of Stuttgart wrote a 40 page answer which he sent to me together with his other writings. I am
afraid I could not find anything substantial in them and judge him to be a philosophical paranoiac with a pregenital basis trying to break through. I gave him the address of Kris as a Kunsthistoriker [an art historian], but hope he will not trouble him too much.
The news we get of you continues to be good. I am sure you are bearing the life in the Berggasse with fortitude although you must already be thinking of next spring's lilac in Grinzing. I have always envied Eitingon his ability to travel so freely, especially to Vienna, but this year's experience inclines me to change my mind. For the first time in my life I spent my holidays under my own roof and indeed seldom went out of the garden. The experience was extraordinarily pleasant and restful.
With my kindest regards,
Yours always affectionately
Ernest Jones.
